Cherry Hill's curbside leaf collection begins the week of Oct. 26, and residents who skip the rules risk having their piles passed over.
The township's Department of Public Works released the 2026 fall leaf collection schedule, which divides Cherry Hill into five zones. Each neighborhood gets two pickups: one in the first round running from late October through late November, and a tentative second round from late November into mid-December.
The first-round schedule breaks down by week:
- Week of Oct. 26: Barlow, Brookmead, Carlisle, Charleston Ridings, Charleston Woods, Colwick, Cooper Park Village, Erlton North, Hinchman, Kingsway Village, Lucerne, Ridings of Fox Run, Sienna, Voken Tract, Woodcrest and Woodland
- Week of Nov. 2: Bunker Hill, Cherry Hill Estates, Cherry Run, Chestnut Place, Country Walk, Cropwell Estates, Deer Park, Delwood, Eagle Oak, Forest Park, Fox Hollow, Knollwood, Lakeview, Point of Woods, Ramsgate, Signal Hill, Somerset, Staffordshire, Surrey Place, Timber Cove, Willowdale and Windsor Park West
- Week of Nov. 9: Ashland, Batesville, Erlton South, Fox Hollow Woods, Haddontowne, Hunt Tract, Kenilworth, Kresson Woods, Old Orchard, Park Place, Wexford East, Wexford Leas, Wilderness Acres, Wilderness Glen and Windsor Park
- Week of Nov. 16: Apple Hill, Barclay Farm, Barclay Farm Hamlets, Barclay Farm South, Bowling Green, Brandywoods, Brookdale (Olde Surrey Place, E. Springs Crossing), Brookfield, Cherry Valley, Columbia Lakes (north of Church Road), Downs Farm and Sleepy Hollow
- Week of Nov. 23: Candlewyck, Cherry Downs, Kingston, Locustwood, Northwoods, Short Hills and Springbrook
Second-round dates are tentative and range from the week of Nov. 30 through the week of Dec. 14, according to the township's schedule document. Rain and snow can push dates back because the same equipment handles snow removal.
Signs will go up in each neighborhood one week before crews arrive. The township says residents should not rake leaves to the curb until those signs appear.
Collection rules:
- Cars must be off the street between 7 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. on collection days.
- Leaves go on the park strip near the roadway, not in the street itself.
- Plastic bags are not allowed. Use biodegradable bags or open trash cans on regular trash and recycling day instead.
- Leaf piles mixed with branches or other debris will not be collected.
- Department of Environmental Protection regulations bar leaves within 10 feet of any storm drain.
Landscapers and lawn services must haul leaves off-site. They can use the Kresson Road Ecology Site at no cost with a permit from the Department of Public Works.
Residents who want to skip the wait can also drop off leaves at the Kresson Road Ecology Site for free. The Department of Public Works handles hours and access; residents should call for details.
