Cherry Hill Township will accept nonperishable food donations at five locations from Nov. 1 through Nov. 22, four days before Thanksgiving.

The annual Thanksgiving Food Drive details are posted on the township's website. Residents can bring donations to three sites with regular hours and two pantries that accept them on varying schedules.

Three sites post regular hours:

  • Cherry Hill Municipal Building, 820 Mercer St. — Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Croft Farm, 100 Bortons Mill Rd. — Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Cherry Hill Public Library, 1100 Kings Highway — Monday through Wednesday, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Thursday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Sunday, 1 to 5 p.m.

Two additional sites accept donations on varying schedules. Call ahead before visiting:

  • Cherry Hill Food Pantry, 910 Beechwood Ave. — 856-910-9090
  • Jewish Family & Children's Service (JFCS) — 856-433-8225

The Cherry Hill Food Pantry supplies groceries and social services to families in Cherry Hill and nearby towns. JFCS operates the Betsy & Peter Fischer Food Pantry at 6 East Miami Ave., serving residents of Camden, Burlington and Gloucester counties.

The township's drive is a separate effort from the Food Bank of South Jersey's Turkey Bowl campaign, which we reported Sunday, Oct. 4 is seeking $40,000 in donations this fall.

The township has not published a list of most-needed items or said how many families the drive typically serves. Residents with questions can contact the individual drop-off sites directly.

All donations must be dropped off by Nov. 22. Thanksgiving falls on Nov. 26.
