Cherry Hill East girls volleyball snapped a three-game losing streak Monday, Sept. 28, sweeping rival Eastern Regional 25-19, 25-19.

The win moved the Cougars to 6-5 overall and 1-1 in the Olympic-American division, according to MaxPreps. Eastern entered the match at 8-3, per Cherry Hill East's student newspaper, Eastside.

Three Cougars drove the result. Junior outside hitter Jordan Walker led the attack with 11 kills. Sophomore setter Arianna Fils-Aime ran the offense with 18 assists. Libero Leela Mon anchored the back row with 12 digs.

Walker and Mon set the tone early. Mon opened the scoring with a quick save that let Walker tip the ball over the net. Defensive specialist Remy Choi served two aces across both sets, and middle blocker Olivia Battista added another. Middle hitter Evelyn Cruz and right-side hitter Valerie Herman combined on a block that helped East pull away in the first set. Middle blocker Sydney Brown closed out both sets with kills.

Fils-Aime has been a steady hand all season. In the Cougars' first three matches, she recorded at least 17 assists each time, according to a Sept. 9 Eastside report.

The Cougars opened the 2026 season with four straight wins over Sterling, ACIT, Camden Catholic and Seneca. Losses to Cherokee and Williamstown followed before a bounce-back win over Barnegat. Then came three consecutive defeats to Pinelands Regional, Paul VI and Moorestown. The sweep of Eastern ended that slide.

Cherry Hill East sits fourth in the Olympic-American standings at 1-1 in division play. The next stretch of the schedule will test whether the Cougars can build on the Eastern result. They travel to Burlington Township on Thursday, Oct. 1 and face Rancocas Valley in a division match Friday, Oct. 2. Another Olympic-American contest follows Wednesday, Oct. 7 when East hosts Cherokee. The crosstown rivalry match at Cherry Hill West is set for Monday, Oct. 26.
