Cherry Hill Public Library is putting on a murder mystery night for adults, complete with professional actors, dessert and wine.

The event, called "Killer Night Out," runs Friday, Oct. 30 from 6 to 9 p.m. in the library's Conference Center on the lower level at 1100 Kings Hwy N. Tickets cost $30 per person and include one glass of wine and dessert. Guests must be 21 or older.

The theme is "Til Death Do Us Part: All Is Fair in Love and Murder." The storyline follows a wedding gone wrong when a member of the wedding party is murdered. Professional actors lead the mystery and interact with the crowd as guests work together to crack the case.

The library's event listing promises "a raging bridezilla and an unenthused groom" in what it calls a "nuptial nightmare." Guests can bring their own food and snacks to share.

The library categorizes the evening as a fundraiser. It is supported by the Friends of the Library.

Meredith Meyer, listed as the event organizer on the library's calendar, is coordinating the evening. Wine will be served by a professional on site. Outside alcohol is not allowed.

Additional wine tickets can be purchased at the door with cash only.

Registration is required. Cash and check payments are accepted at the library's Administrative Office, with checks made payable to Cherry Hill Public Library. Credit card payments are accepted online only and carry additional fees.

Full refunds are available until one week before the event.

The ticketed evening is a departure from the library's typical free programming. Cherry Hill Public Library spans 72,000 square feet, making it one of the largest municipal libraries in New Jersey. The library held 789 adult programs in 2024 and drew more than 207,000 visitors that year, according to its media kit.

Director Tierney Miller took over leadership in June 2025. The library, as listed in The Sun Papers, describes the event as a chance for guests to work alongside professional actors to solve the case.
