Timberland opens its new Cherry Hill Mall store Friday, Aug. 21, with a morning ribbon cutting, giveaways and a giant replica of the brand's signature yellow boot greeting shoppers at the Route 38 mall.

The ribbon cutting began at 9:30 a.m. at the 1,800-square-foot store, according to Patch. A 13-foot-long version of Timberland's iconic wheat-colored boot is on display Friday and Saturday, Aug. 22, for photo opportunities, NJ.com reported.

The store, located near the entrance and escalators to the mall's two-level section, sells footwear, apparel and accessories for men, women and children. That includes Timberland's Premium 6-Inch Boot, PRO safety footwear for trade workers, casual shoes and outdoor styles.

Grand opening weekend features a boot customization station Friday and Saturday where customers can personalize purchases with laser engraving, patches and custom laces. Shoppers who buy footwear receive a tote bag; other purchases come with branded playing cards or a coaster set while supplies last.

The Cherry Hill location is Timberland's fourth full-price store in New Jersey. The brand also operates several outlet locations across the state.

Part of a bigger wave

Timberland is one of six new retailers signing leases at Cherry Hill Mall through the end of 2027, according to a statement from PREIT, the mall's owner. The six brands — Crocs, Indochino, Timberland, True Religion, gorjana and Aritzia with its in-store A-OK Café — will collectively occupy more than 30,000 square feet, PhillyVoice reported.

PREIT called the new tenant signings the "strongest collection" the mall has seen in years in a July 7 announcement.

Crocs opened in late June. Indochino is expected by the 2026 holiday season. True Religion is targeting early 2027, gorjana is slated for the 2027 holiday season, and Aritzia — whose location will include one of only seven A-OK Cafés in the country — is set for spring 2027. Lululemon is also relocating to a larger space in the Grand Court area by the holidays.

Paula Charles, PREIT's senior vice president of leasing, said in the July 7 statement that the company is proud to see the momentum continue beyond the tenants added in recent years.

Dick's House of Sport, a 120,000-square-foot, two-story store described as the largest single-tenant addition to the mall in over a decade, is also expected to open later this year. It will feature a rock climbing wall, outdoor track, golf simulators and a winter ice rink.

Cherry Hill Mall is open Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Sunday, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
