7 Brew Coffee has confirmed that a Cherry Hill location is under development, with a Planning Board hearing set for next month.
The drive-thru coffee chain listed Cherry Hill among several stores in its pipeline in a 42freeway.com report published Wednesday, Sept. 23. The proposed store would sit at 800 Route 38, on a triangular parcel bordered by Route 38, Longwood Avenue and Alder Street, just east of the Walmart Supercenter.
The application, filed by G7B II, LLC, calls for demolishing the former Delcrest Medical building. In its place: a 510-square-foot coffee shop with a 260-square-foot refrigerated storage cooler connected by a canopy and breezeway. The plan includes two drive-thru lanes, a bypass lane and no customer seating.
Cherry Hill's Planning Board has yet to hear the case. As we reported Sept. 9, the application was adjourned twice, first from the Aug. 18 agenda to Sept. 8, then from Sept. 8 to Monday, Oct. 5. That hearing begins at 7:30 p.m. via Zoom.
The applicant is seeking preliminary and final major site plan approval along with bulk, canopy and sign variances, according to the Planning Board agenda. Customer traffic would enter and exit from Route 38 and Longwood Avenue. Alder Street would not have access to the property.
Meanwhile, the chain's progress in nearby Lawnside shows how quickly 7 Brew can move. The company's drive-thru building is already in place at 358 White Horse Pike, in front of Home Depot, on a site where a former gas station was demolished roughly six weeks earlier.
Franchise operators told 42freeway.com's Mark Matthews they are "targeting a fall 2026 opening and would ideally like to be open before Thanksgiving." No date has been announced. Utility work and other scheduling factors still need to fall into place, and some of that timing is outside the operators' control.
Founded in Arkansas in 2017, 7 Brew now operates more than 700 locations nationally. The chain opened its first New Jersey store in Turnersville in early 2025 and has grown to 11 locations in the state. The regional franchise operator has discussed plans for as many as 100 stores across the New Jersey and Philadelphia area.
Cherry Hill residents who want to weigh in on the Route 38 proposal can join the Planning Board's Zoom meeting.
