About two dozen students at John A. Carusi Middle School have started a garden club, spending their first sessions pulling weeds, clearing beds and mixing in fresh compost.
The club has 20 to 25 members who began preparing the school's garden beds for colder weather, according to an announcement on the school's website published Friday, Sept. 25. The school said the group's teamwork has already made a visible difference on campus.
Members plan to take on both indoor and outdoor projects throughout the 2026–27 school year to beautify the grounds and create welcoming spaces around the building.
The school invited Cherry Hill families and community members to support the student gardeners as they continue their work. More information is available on the Carusi Middle School website.
