Cherry Hill East lost to Williamstown 33-21 on Thursday, Sept. 24, dropping to 0-5 on the season.

The Cougars have now lost every game to open the year. Williamstown improved to 3-2 with the win.

East has been outscored 144-85 through five games, according to MaxPreps. The Cougars are 0-3 in West Jersey Continental League play, sitting sixth in the league standings.

The five losses: 24-17 to Delran on Aug. 28, 24-13 at Eastern on Sept. 3, 35-13 to Shawnee on Sept. 10, 28-21 to Pennsauken on Sept. 18 and 33-21 to Williamstown on Sept. 24.

The slide stands in sharp contrast to 2025. Head coach Tyler Drob led the Cougars to a 9-0 regular season before a first-round playoff loss to Toms River North. Drob returns this season with five team-elected captains: quarterback Josh Greenberg, linebacker and running back Dillon Haddock, tight end and defensive end Trevor Levin, offensive and defensive lineman Jayden Pitter, and wide receiver and safety Liam Sweeny. All five are seniors.

Eastside Online reported that senior Taj Boaten made his season debut against Williamstown after missing the first four games. Boaten had been sidelined by an NJSIAA eligibility rule, the school newspaper reported.

East's schedule does not get easier. The Cougars travel to Washington Township (5-0) on Thursday, Oct. 1, at 6 p.m. East's next home game is Friday, Oct. 9, at 6 p.m. against crosstown rival Cherry Hill West (2-3) for homecoming.
