Brio on Haddonfield Road is gone.
Closure notices appeared on the Cherry Hill restaurant Tuesday, July 28, and a moving truck was spotted outside the day before, according to Patch. The shutdown leaves New Jersey without a single Brio Italian Grille location. The chain had already closed its Marlton and Freehold Raceway Mall restaurants earlier in 2026, all following a Chapter 11 bankruptcy filed in August 2025 by parent company Bravo Brio Restaurants.
But the Haddonfield Road space won't stay dark. An approved Cherry Hill zoning permit confirms Fogo de Chão, the Brazilian steakhouse chain, will take over the site. The new operators plan to fully enclose the existing covered outdoor dining area and reduce total seating from 367 to 296, according to the permit obtained by Patch. No opening date has been announced.
Why Brio closed
Bravo Brio Restaurants, based in Orlando, Florida, operated 48 locations when it filed for bankruptcy protection on Aug. 18, 2025, in U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Middle District of Florida. The Cherry Hill restaurant was listed as a named subsidiary in the proceedings: Brio (Cherry Hill), LLC.
The company cited declining consumer demand in the casual-dining sector, competition from fast-casual alternatives and rising food and labor costs in its August 2025 bankruptcy filing.
For fiscal year 2024, Bravo Brio generated gross revenue exceeding $186 million but posted negative EBITDA of approximately $1 million, according to the company's December 2025 disclosure statement.
By the time the Cherry Hill doors closed, roughly 19 Brio locations remained nationwide, according to The Sun Papers.
What Fogo de Chão brings
Fogo de Chão is a churrascaria founded in southern Brazil in 1979. Gaucho chefs carve premium cuts of meat tableside, and diners use a two-sided card (green to keep the meat coming, red to pause) to control service.
The chain operates 122 restaurants globally and plans to open approximately 16 new locations in 2026, according to FSR Magazine. The chain's 2026 expansion plans also include a Princeton, New Jersey, location.
