Cherry Hill will mark 25 years since the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks with a public remembrance ceremony at the township's 9/11 Memorial on Friday, Sept. 11.

Mayor Dave Fleisher and members of the Township Council will join first responders at Fire Headquarters, 1100 Marlkress Road, for the 8:30 a.m. service, according to the township's website. The township said everyone is invited to attend.

The ceremony is the 25th annual observance at the memorial site. The Cherry Hill Fire Department described last year's event as the "24th Annual September 11th Remembrance Service" in an Aug. 31, 2025, Instagram post, placing the tradition's start in 2002, the first anniversary of the attacks.

The fire department's 2025 announcement listed the Cherry Hill Fire Department, the Board of Fire Commissioners, the Cherry Hill Police Department, the mayor and council members among participants. The 2026 lineup has not been separately announced.

At a prior year's ceremony, police and fire personnel held a moment of silence at 8:46 a.m., the time the first plane struck the World Trade Center, according to a Cherry Hill Police Department Facebook post. Whether the same observance will take place this year has not been confirmed.

The memorial sits at Fire Headquarters, the department's Station 13-3. Residents with questions can contact the township at (856) 665-6500 or [email protected].
