Cherry Hill's October lineup spans five community events, from a four-day Greek food and wine festival to a juried photography show at Croft Farm.
The Greek Agora Festival returns Oct. 8–11 at St. Thomas Greek Orthodox Church, 615 Mercer St. The festival, running since 1974, bills itself as the largest wine and food festival in the Delaware Valley. Doors open at 11 a.m. each day and close at 11 p.m., according to the festival's website. The festival features Greek food, wine, music and dance.
The township's annual Harvest Festival follows on Sunday, Oct. 18, from noon to 4 p.m. at Croft Farm, 100 Bortons Mill Rd. The Philadelphia Inquirer describes the event as free entry with pay-as-you-go activities. The township lists more than 100 artists, crafters, businesses and community organizations.
Families can find pony rides, a petting zoo, pumpkins, live music and a craft fair. A beer garden featuring Mechanical Brewery and interactive activities with the Cherry Hill Police and Fire Departments round out the afternoon. The event runs rain or shine.
Nearby, Camden County's Movies in the Park series screens The Nightmare Before Christmas on Friday, Oct. 23, at 7 p.m. at the McLaughlin Norcross Memorial Dell, 1228 Sylvan Dr. in Haddon Heights. The screening is free. Camden County's event page encourages families to bring blankets and lawn chairs. The series wraps Dec. 4 with Dr. Seuss's How the Grinch Stole Christmas.
Local photographers can submit work to the Cherry Hill Arts Board's Fall Into the Arts Juried Photography Show on Oct. 26 (9 a.m.–3 p.m.) and Oct. 27 (4–7 p.m.) at Croft Farm Arts Center. Entry costs $10 per submission, with a maximum of three per photographer.
Proceeds benefit the Gaye Pino Memorial Scholarship, awarded each year to Cherry Hill High School East and West students pursuing art, music or theater. Cash prizes run $250 for first place, $150 for second and $75 for third. The show opens Nov. 2.
McCoys Stop the Hunger Food and Mobile Pantry hosts a free 4K run/walk and health fair on Friday, Oct. 16, starting at 9 a.m. at Cooper River Jack Curtis Stadium, according to SJ Magazine.
