Six public events fill Cherry Hill's calendar the week of Sept. 23–29. Highlights include a volunteer day and outdoor ballet at Croft Farm and a free Senior Festival at the DoubleTree by Hilton.

Saturday, Sept. 26 brings two events to Croft Farm. National Public Lands Day invites volunteers to the Large Red Barn for hands-on conservation work. Registration is required through the township website. That same day, Ballet in the Park offers a free outdoor performance on the Croft Farm grounds.

The township has not posted start times for either event. Residents can check for updates at chnj.gov or call the Recreation Department at 856-488-7868.

Monday, Sept. 28 is the week's busiest day. The Senior Festival runs from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the DoubleTree by Hilton, 2349 Marlton Pike West. The event is open to Cherry Hill residents ages 55 and older. Local organizations, nonprofits and township departments will share information about senior services and programs. The Lion's Share will provide a free boxed meal to the first 350 residents on a first-come, first-served basis. Prize drawings are also planned.

That evening, Cherry Hill Township Council meets at 7 p.m. No agenda had been posted as of Wednesday, Sept. 23. Agendas are posted at the township's Agenda Center.

Other meetings this week: The Cherry Hill Rent Review Board meets Thursday, Sept. 24, at 6 p.m. in Room 208 of the N. John Amato Council Chambers at 820 Mercer St., according to the township calendar. The meeting is also available via Zoom (Webinar ID: 846 0051 8256). The Cherry Hill Board of Education holds a public meeting Tuesday, Sept. 29, at 6:30 p.m., according to The Sun Newspapers.

At the library: Cherry Hill Public Library (CHPL) runs more than a dozen programs this week. Highlights include "Making AI Work for You," a practical workshop at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 24; a Silent Audiobook Walking Group at 10:20 a.m. Friday, Sept. 25; Tai Chi Chih Saturday at 10:15 a.m. Sept. 26; and Mindfulness Drawing for Stress Relief at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 29. Looking ahead: The Cherry Hill Harvest Festival returns to Croft Farm, 100 Bortons Mill Road, on Sunday, Oct. 18, from noon to 4 p.m. The Courier-Post reports the lineup includes a beer garden, free pumpkins, food trucks, a petting zoo, live music, a craft show and kids' activities.
