Five Cherry Hill road segments face full or partial closures through Friday, Sept. 25, as utility and paving crews work across the township.
The heaviest disruptions hit Cropwell Road and Kenilworth Avenue, both fully closed during daytime hours all week, according to a Camden County roadwork notice.
New Jersey American Water is behind the Cropwell Road closure between Marlowe Road and Kresson Road, running 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Friday. The work marks a shift from the utility's previous schedule on that stretch. During the week of Aug. 31, the closure was overnight only, from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m., according to The Sun Newspapers. Drivers who used Cropwell Road during the day earlier this month will need a different route.
Kenilworth Avenue is shut down between Route 38 and Chapel Avenue from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. through Friday. The county did not name a contractor.
Kresson Road faces a patchwork of restrictions. Lane closures at the Springdale Road intersection were scheduled Monday, Sept. 21, and Tuesday, Sept. 22, nights from 6:30 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. Paving on Sept. 21 was pushed to 8 p.m. to accommodate Yom Kippur traffic. Cherry Hill Township offices were closed Monday, Sept. 21, for the holiday.
Tuesday, Sept. 22, through Thursday, Sept. 24, Kresson Road between Middle Acres Lane and Marlkress Road will see lane shifts, lane closures and alternating traffic with westbound flaggers from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. On Wednesday, Sept. 23, crews will mill and pave multiple side street intersections along the corridor during the same hours.
Two other roads carry partial restrictions all week. East Cuthbert Boulevard has a southbound lane closure and sidewalk closures between North Park Drive in Cherry Hill and South Park Drive in Haddon Township, 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Evesham Road has a partial westbound closure between Haddonfield-Berlin Road in Cherry Hill and Burnt Mill Road in Voorhees, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The county notice does not list specific detour routes for any of the five closures. Camden County Commissioner Al Dyer urged drivers to "plan ahead to take alternate routes and give themselves plenty of time to get to their destinations."
Residents can report roadway concerns to the Camden County Department of Public Works at (856) 566-2980.
