Atlantic City Line service through Cherry Hill was suspended Tuesday, Sept. 8, after an NJ Transit train struck and killed a person in Lindenwold.
Train 4620 hit the person near the Pinelawn Avenue crossing at about 11:10 a.m., Patch reported, citing NJ Transit officials. The agency said the person had been trespassing on the tracks. The victim has not been identified, according to Daily Voice.
The train had left Atlantic City at 10:12 a.m. bound for Philadelphia's 30th Street Station. None of the 120 passengers on board or crew members were injured, NJ Transit said.
Service was suspended in both directions between Atco and Cherry Hill stations as of Tuesday afternoon. NJ Transit had not announced whether full service had resumed as of Sept. 9.
NJ Transit police are leading the investigation.
