Cherry Hill has a new place to tee off without stepping outside.

TruGolf Links opened its first flagship franchise location at Plaza at Cherry Hill on Thursday, bringing a 6,045-square-foot indoor golf and entertainment venue to the shopping center adjacent to Cherry Hill Mall. The facility features five golf simulator bays, a full-service bar, a restaurant and the centerpiece Horizon simulator, which projects onto a 17-foot screen with stadium seating and an elevated platform.

Owner and franchisee Nick Reimondo said the project took more than a year to complete.

"It's been more than a year in the making, and I couldn't be more excited to open our doors," Reimondo said in the company's grand opening announcement. "Whether you're looking for family fun in our multisport arcade, a memorable date night, corporate events, or group golf on more than 17,000 courses worldwide, including local favorites like Pennsauken, Rancocas, and Medford Lake, we're the place to go."

Beyond golf simulation, the venue offers multisport arcade games, cocktails, wine, beer and a full food menu. Golfers can play virtual versions of more than 17,000 courses worldwide.

TruGolf Holdings (Nasdaq: TRUG) has manufactured golf simulators since 1983. The Cherry Hill location is the company's first franchisee-owned flagship, according to its press release, and is meant to serve as the model for a national rollout. Nate Larsen, president of TruGolf Links, called the facility a model for the franchise's expansion. The company said regional developers in New Jersey, New York, and Illinois have committed to more than 100 future locations, though no timeline was specified.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony with Cherry Hill Mayor Dave Fleisher is scheduled for Tuesday, August 4, at 1 p.m. The official grand opening celebration continues Friday, August 7, at 11 a.m. with TruGolf corporate leadership and community leaders. PXG, TruGolf's club-fitting partner, will have a mobile fitting van on site August 7 and August 8 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. SOJO 104.9 host Matt Ryan will broadcast live Saturday, August 8, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., running a "Closest to the Pin" contest with Ed Sheeran concert tickets as prizes.
