A vehicle crash shut down the southbound lanes of Haddonfield Road at Yale Avenue in Cherry Hill on Wednesday afternoon, Aug. 5, forcing police to reroute traffic for several hours.
Cherry Hill Police confirmed the closure and said northbound traffic was reduced to one lane while officers worked the scene, according to Patch. The department advised drivers to take alternate routes and avoid the area.

Patch first reported the closure at 7:18 p.m. and posted an update at 8:48 p.m. confirming the road had fully reopened and returned to normal traffic flow. It is unclear exactly when the crash occurred or how long the road remained closed before reopening.

The stretch of Haddonfield Road through Cherry Hill has drawn attention for traffic safety concerns. A 51-year-old man was struck and killed while crossing Haddonfield Road on the night of Dec. 8, 2025, according to Fox 29. That fatal crash, roughly eight months before Wednesday's incident, highlighted pedestrian risks along the busy corridor.
Wednesday's crash is unrelated to the Route 38 flash flooding that closed a stretch of road Monday, Aug. 3, or the ongoing construction closures on Kenilworth Avenue and Kresson Road.
