Drivers who use Kenilworth Avenue or Kresson Road will face another full week of construction closures starting Monday, August 3, marking the third consecutive week of disruption on two of Cherry Hill's busiest corridors.

Kenilworth Avenue will be completely shut down between Route 38 and Helena Avenue from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Monday, August 3–7, according to Camden County's weekly roadwork advisory published Friday.

Kresson Road has two separate work zones with different schedules:

  • Heartwood Drive to Middle Acre Lane: Lane shifts, lane closures and alternating traffic from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Monday, August 3–6 only. This segment reopens fully on Friday.
  • Cropwell Road to Cooper Run Drive: A partial westbound closure from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Monday, August 3–7.

The Kresson Road work is part of a $7.17 million contract Camden County awarded in August 2025 to Richard E. Pierson Construction Co. for roadway, drainage and traffic signal improvements along the corridor from Browning Avenue to Cropwell Road, as reported July 27.

Commissioner Al Dyer, the county Board of Commissioners' liaison to the Department of Public Works, urged residents to build extra time into their commutes. "Motorists should plan ahead to take alternate routes and give themselves plenty of time to get to their destinations," Dyer said in the advisory. He also reminded drivers to slow down and stay alert for crew members and debris in construction zones.

The closures are part of a broader wave of simultaneous road projects hitting Cherry Hill. Mayor David Fleisher said on July 22 that he is in active talks with NJDOT, Camden County and NJ American Water about reducing the impact on drivers, and that Cherry Hill Police would be deployed to help manage traffic flow.

No completion date has been publicly released for either the Kenilworth Avenue or Kresson Road projects. The county does not name specific detour routes in its advisory.
